current obsession: TONY LEUNG CHIU WAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg. he is UTTERLY ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *shRiekshRiek!!* he's like the asian version of Johnny dEpp!!!!!!!! *gUSH*

current song: Nelly's And They Say

HAH. the great nene watched Infernal Affairs 1,2 and 3 at one go today. 6hrs. amazing. and at the 3rd installment, i was brain dead already, so i didnt exactly catch what was going on. but the 1st one (WITH TONY LEUNG!!!!and andy lau) was utterly exciting and amazing. and totally in love with tony leung. the 2nd one was much slower and not as exciting. or maybe i was already half dead from the first episode. but anyhows, it has its equal share of eye candies (edison chen and shawn yue!!!!!!!). omg. those who watched the mandarin version of it -- i'm begging you to catch the original cantonese version. their accent is mesmerising (ESP TONY LEUNG'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the third one has Li Ming...and andy lau and TONY LEUNG!!!and i think that's all i noticed about it. but apparently --from what i've observed, the 3rd part is much more brain stimulating and the concept is damn good. yupp. and i shall stop my ranting here.

swam this morning at bishan swimming complex. 20 x 50m = 1000m. yay. fufilled one of my wishes.
next is to go massive shopping.
realised all my cousins are into white mini skirts. aik. sheeshed.
mother was very reluctant to let me wear my new clothes (when she spent at least $300 on them. HAH. then what for buy? *rolls eyes*)
ended up wearing old clothes. i'll be staying at home anyway.

aik. new year and socialising is an absolute chore.
and to remember how to address all my 20-over relatives is a headache. i usually just say "hi!" and "happy new year!!!!"
heh.
such a waste of time if not for TONY LEUNG and mind-boggling and bursting Infernal Affairs.
nothing deep though. just some hong kong thriller about traids. exciting though. heh

and i watched mulan after that!
relived my childhood. whee hee.

and i finished reading the doggie book! (erm. the curious incident of the dog at night time.)
maybe i shall share my review some time soon. am simply too lazy to do so now even though it's right next to me. heh.
shall just share some quotes for you guys to munch munch on. hehe

"..people think they're not computers because they have feelings and computers dont have feelings. But feelings are just having a picture on the screen in your head of what is going to happen tomorrow or next year, or what might have happened instead of what did happen, and if it is a happy picture they smile and if it is a sad picture they cry."

haha. amazing insight huh?
i still remember seeing on TVmobile that emotions are basically chemicals secreted into your brain. HAH.

"Timetables...make sure you dont get lost in time."

"People believe in God because the world is very complicated and they think it is very unlikely that anything as complicated as a flying squirrel or the human eye or a brain could happen by chance."

*raise up hands in innocence* i didnt say that! mark haddon did! though i strongly agree with him. =x

"And people who believe in God think God has put human beings on the earth because they think human beings are the best animal..."

Right. think i might as well finish my review.
Well, it is a rather simple book with a simple storyline with a simple boy. And let me start by reminding you guys that this is a book meant for children. You are brought into the world of a 15year old mentally retarded boy, and nothing else. You see everything from his point of view--absolutely detached.
However, this boy's mental condition does not affect the insightfulness of his thoughts, such as those quoted above. Also, these ideas are being greatly contrasted with the extremely simple language and content.
Maybe we "normal" humans are thinking too much that leads us away from what is true.
Maybe.
Well, it is not a VERY entertaining read, but definitely an interesting and worthy read, though there are much better read around. Remember it was written for kids (though it is filled to the brim with vulgarities and adult issues). waha.
=)

nene is on to Brave New World now...which is an absolute contrast with this doggie book. am still trying to adapt to the weight of BNW.
